About

About Me

Before I was a psychologist, I was a mountain guide and today I enjoy helping guide people through their own dark forests, encouraging them when  things seem insurmountable, reaching peaks they have dreamed about, and finding their own paths forward in their lives. I have been providing therapy for adults, children and families for twenty years.  I have been using EMDR in therapy since 1998 and conducted research in EMDR for my masters thesis.  My dissertation was in cognitive psychology at Idaho State University. In high school, I was in the fortunate category of knowing I wanted to be a psychologist when I grew up. I was interested in the mind, dreams, personality, and helping others.  I was a good listener and was a peer counselor. I was blessed to continue my education and become a psychologist.  I enjoy golfing, hiking, backpacking. and flying.

Trauma

One aspect of my job I love the most is watching people put down the burden of traumas they have been struggling with for years and seeing the relief on people's faces as the images and feelings of the trauma become more distant and less disturbing using EMDR.
